High-Angle Rescue Drill

Los Fresnos volunteer firefighter participated in a mock high-angle rescue drill in cooperation with Noble Construction! Noble is currently working on a large project for Los Fresnos ISD which has multiple roof levels.

We were tasked with rescuing a simulated injured worker on the roof of the building and getting him to the ambulance on standby.

Firefighters climbed the ladder truck onto the roof of the building and stabilized the patient. Then, the patient was secured onto a stokes basket and lowered down to safety using a combination of rope rescue techniques and the ladder truck!

The drill was a resounding success and it allowed us the opportunity to identify different approaches to performing future rescues on this building.
