Wildland Fire Training
Los Fresnos volunteer firefighters have completed their wildland fire training course just in time for wildfire season!

Your Los Fresnos firefighters are getting ready for wildfire season! Our members have been working on getting wildland firefighter certifications for the past month and today was our skills demonstration day! With this training we are better equipped to serve our community and assist our neighboring cities with wildfires. We can now also deploy across the state if needed!
This course was taken along with members of neighboring jurisdictions including the Brownsville Fire Department and South Padre Island Fire Department. The participants in this course completed a total of 4 wildland fire courses (S-110, S-130, L-180 and S-190) and the respective field training day.
We would like to extend our gratitude to TEEX and U.S. Fish and Wildlife for taking the time to teach and demonstrate the use of the various types of wildland fire equipment.
